Peter Šimkanin (58) has been the manager of the Optima shopping centre in Kassa for almost 20 years. He lived in the village, not far from Torna Castle, for almost as long. Twelve years ago, he knocked a few wooden pegs into the ground in his garden, about 40 metres from his house. You could say that this is the tower that you see in the fairy-tale film Rapunzel, or Tangled, in English. Under the specially constructed roof, there are two levels: a spacious bedroom and a living room with large windows overlooking the beautiful surroundings. Apart from some technical work, he did everything himself. Peter Šimkanin is a qualified teacher; he taught maths and physics for five years in a medical high school. He then worked for a pharmaceutical company. He completely renovated his own house in Áj, but had no other major construction experience.
