An 18-year-old is thought to have become the UK’s youngest landlady – while only just old enough to be served in a pub. Rheanna Geraghty was recently made head of the 17th-century Waggon and Horses in the village of Steeple Morden, Cambridgeshire. She started working at the pub when she was 16 and when the owner needed to spend more time on a new venture he decided Rheanna was the perfect choice to run it. The teenager is taking on her new role in-between studying to be a fully qualified beauty therapist and says she is excited to take on the challenge. But she admitted she was still shocked she landed the role as a pub landlady, having turned 18 eight months ago. Rheanna, from Bassingbourn, Cambridgeshire, said: “My boss always said how natural I am around the pub, and now he’s bought another pub, he’s not around as much. So he’s put me in charge, which feels weird considering I’m only just the legal age to drink.
