A travel site surveyed more than 200 major cities worldwide to determine the 30 safest for female travellers. In their ranking, Budapest is considered the second safest destination for women in Europe. 24 percent of women have cancelled a trip over safety concerns. According to Time Out, women find themselves having to think long and hard about whether it will be safe for them to travel alone to a certain destination. They have compiled a list of the the top 30 safest cities around the world for female travellers. Budapest is the second safest city for women. Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland, took first place on the list. San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, came in second place. Budapest, the Hungarian capital, won the honorable third place.
