Grammy Award-nominated, multi-platinum-selling American Rock Band Smash Mouth had a string of big hits in the 1990s and 2000s. The band cleverly mixed retro styles and covers, their debut song Walkin on the Sun was huge, and it was the song All Star used in movies Mystery Men and Rat Race, which achieved stratospheric status due to the song being included in the original Shrek movie, and it even became memes. The band continued making music and touring for decades and had other hits such as Then the Morning Comes and covers like The Monkees song I’m a Believer. Smash Mouth founder and original lead singer Steve Harwell recently died after a long illness. He had retired from the band in 2021.
