One of the greatest actors in the world, double Oscar-winner Robert De Niro turned 80 in August. With an incredible career and catalogue of movies behind him from Cape Fear to The Godfather II to Meet the Parents, into his eighties he remains a successful working actor, director and producer. While his early days were known for portrayals of gangsters, violent and hard characters, De Niro’s skills are wide-ranging and include comedy and drama roles. His longtime collaboration with director Martin Scorsese began in 1973 and continues right up to this year with the new film Killers of the Flower Moon. His method of acting is legendary – characters such as Max Cady and Travis Bickle could simply only have been played by De Niro with his method preparation for the roles.
